Discovery work

On my latest position, at Discovery Communications, my job has been focused on supporting ad sales teams by turning ideas and concepts into profitable entertainment for client integrations in On Air and Online platforms for Discovery Communication's channel portfolio in LATAM, specifically Discovery Home and Health, Discovery Channel, Investigation Discovery and Discovery Kids.

The following spots, are the ones that makes me the proudest from the work I've done in Discovery. These were for launching Nestlé's new campaign, by doing an integration in Discovery Home and Health. We presented this concept of "La vida te sonríe" (Life smiles at you) with this very interesting visual concept that supports the story that is being told. It was a very challenging production since we didn't had too much budget and time to produce it, synchronizing 40 go-pro cameras to make this shots, capturing the right emotion in every take... it was very tough but greatly gratifying after having the final result. We managed to pulled it off and the spots looks amazing:

The following spot is part of a franchise for Discovery Home and Health called "Mamá en Entrenamiento". These are capsules with tips for expecting moms and actual mothers that can relate to the topics we present, integrating the product throughout the piece. These are very successful capsules that are being sold in the channel for products related to babies and moms:

This was a spot we created for the channel to celebrate Mothers Day. An anthem to moms:

For this client, we created this capsules with three versions, Mothers Day, Back to School and Christmas. The budget was very limited and we sold this campaign as a bundle where we communicated the personality of the channel along with the client campaign. Here is the Mothers Day version:

Work from my NBCUniversal days

One of the franchises that were sold during this 2014 for Studio Universal was a concept that I delivered as a creative solution to bring new clients to the channel, by producing a short-form capsules that could be profitable and that could make our breaks and movie airings more appealing for both the audience and clients.

Studio Movie Plus. A place where you would get insider tips, behind the scenes, and all of those extras from movies that were going to be scheduled in the primetime during the year. This was a business creative solution as well, since it was produced with currency that were stuck in countries where local legislation restricted the funds coming out of the country. Here is the demo version that explained more about what Studio Movie Plus is about, in the three versions that was produced for Southern Cone, Northern Cone and Brazil:

While working for Universal Channel, the most ambitious campaign I worked for was for the refresh of this brand. It was a global initiative that for the most part I spearheaded in our region, along with the International team and our On-Air team in Argentina. Here's a reel of the beautiful work that was produced:

Another interesting project was the House Finale campaign. House was our flagship program, an icon... synonymous with Universal Channel. So important and relevant to our loyalists that they refer to the channel as “the House channel”. The grand finale was on June 21st 2012, and we thought that we needed to do something special: to create an event for our fans, something interactive, where they could feel that they could be part of the celebration. Not everyone can pull-off being straightforward, but when someone can do it, it’s impressive. That’s how Dr. House has became an icon: for being honest... brutally honest. Dr. House is bitter, sarcastic, corrosive, brilliant; in every episode we learned, and got inspired to be like him. These soundbites are “housisms”. They are the ultimate sarcasm we’ve all absorbed from the series, that lives within us. We created a People's Choice Marathon that would air the episodes voted by the fans online around this concept and the results were amazing! Breaking records of ratings for the channel on the night of the finale and an outstanding never-seen before performance online during the promotional window of the campaign.

Circulo Creativo USA - Young Creatives Film Competition | Look

"Look" was my entry for the US Hispanic Young Creatives Film Competition, hosted by the US Circulo Creativo. The brief was "invest more in the Hispanic Market" as a response to the 2010 US Census results where Hispanic population in the US has grown exponentially. It was a lot of fun and I'm really, really proud of the final product. It was a lot of work, but was an amazing experience.

Oxfam | Redeem yourself with the world

This was my entry for the contest "The YouTube Cannes Young Lions 48 Hour Ad Contest" and made it through the shortlist. The NGO in the brief was Oxfam, an english organization that wants to make people aware of the climate change consequences and wants the people to join the cause, a petition that will make pressure on our world leaders meeting in the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, this december.

Here is the case study for this campaign that was recognized and awarded in the 2010 Creativity International Awards.

Leave 09 Behind | Campaign

This was the end of the year idea we did in Dieste in 2009. That year, if you can remember it, was the worst year ever, and there were a thousand of reasons that made it horrible.

We wanted to end the year sooner and we made a campaign about it, and actually, we did it.

Soon Ill post the case study video.

This was one of the many spots we did for this campaign. I wrote it, and Charlie Tourné directed it. Of course, we have to say that Gaby Puerto stole the show with this breathtaking performance.

It was a lot of fun coming up with this campaign, working for it -a lot- and then see it executed, and of course, receiving an award at the Creativity International Awards for this campaign, was awesome.
